LAST Ekklesia of the Spring Semester April 7th!
April’s Ekklesia falls on the Habitat for Humanity Shack-a-thon Event, which we mentioned last month. College Life will be constructing a cardboard cathedral as their shack to raise money for Habitat and also to be a presence of Chrisitian Community in that little 3 day village on the Campus Green.
If your organization is not participating and you are interested in joining in on the Shack-a-thon for the building of the cathedral as well as building community with each other and those others at Shack-a-thon who need Christ can message Kevin Bohlin for more information (kevin@collegelife.org).
Prayer times remain the same with one special location change for UNT:
UNT Prayer: Cardboard Cathedral on Campus Green (by the Business Admin. Building) with the Shack-a-Thon from 9am to 4pm.
TWU Prayer: TWU BSM from 9am to 4pm.
Our final worship time together will be @ 8 in the Lyceum where we can head over to the shacks afterward for fellowship and outreach. Last week was a wonderful experience with Chi Alpha and we look forward to worshiping again with a new band this month as well.

Many are missing out on the great prayer spaces throughout the day on each campus. Go to the Prayer Gathering page on the website for more on how these rooms work.

Here is a picture of the UNT room with the nasty flourescent lights on. . . its much more comfortable when those are off!!
Next Ekklesia: Tuesday February 3rd
This semester’s Ekklesia will spring into action on Tuesday, Feb 3.
Our focusing Text will be Acts 2:42-47 and the fellowship and unity of the early church.
In that spirit we will share food and fellowship together after the prayer worship like the early church.
Prayer will still be the same at TWU in the BSM, but the UNT Prayer room (Union Rm. 415) will not open until 12pm because it has been reserved by another organization until then. It will have a new feel to it that I encourage you to come into and experience with your friends.
Prayer and Worship will be at 8pm in the Lyceum.
Peace of Christ to you all, lets gather and start the semester in the unity of Christ and his mission to Denton Collegians!!
Next Ekklesia: November 4th
This Ekklesia falls on Election Day and it is only appropriate that we pray for our nation and our position as dual citizens. There will be no partisan or candidate talk, but we will worship one true God who is truly the Lord and King of All People.
We are dual citizens, citizens of heaven and citizens of America. Our calling is to live out our heavenly citizenship within our national citizenship. This will be the focus of our time.
Prayer will again be in UNT’s Union Room 415 (with more comfortable lighting this time!) and TWU’s BSM from 9am-4pm. Come in anytime and pray with you friends or pray and meditate alone.
Worship will again be at the Lyceum from 7pm-8pm.* (Note the Change to 7!!!)
This month we are blessed to be joined by Chi Alpha during their usual meeting time! We will be led in prayer by Nathan Wesson of Chi Alpha, Matt Berry of the Bridge Church, and David Cervenka of Hope Fellowship.
UNITY IS WITNESS

The theme for the Day will be “The Harvest.”

Prayer will again be in UNT’s Union Room 415 (with more comfortable lighting this time!) and TWU’s BSM from 9am-4pm. Come in anytime and pray with you friends or pray and meditate alone.

Ekklesia: Mission and Unity
This website will be a central point for a growing awareness among Denton Christ following collegians for advancement of the Kingdom of God in the fulfillment of the prayer of King Jesus as recorded by the apostle John saying
“The glory which You have given me I have given them, that they may be one, just as We are one;
I in them, and you in Me, that they may be perfected in unity, so that the world may know that You sent Me, and loved them, even as You have loved me.” John 17:22-23
We are the “ekklesia,” the gathering of God’s people around his mission in our place, that is for all nations to be blessed through the seed of Abraham, Jesus Christ, and that disciples would be made on the college campuses of Denton where the kingdom of Jesus breaks into the present in the prayer, worship, and work of his people.
May we be Unified in His Mission and Missional in our Unity.
